After initial conversations, The Bus Shelter MK decided it would be best for Blush to apply for the Google Ad Grant on their behalf and if the application was successful, continue to create and manage the account as they did not have the expertise in house.
The Bus Shelter MK is a local charity providing food and support to the homeless in Milton Keynes.
They were aware of Google Ad Grants but needed help applying for and setting up the account.
The first step was submitting an application on the Google For Non Profits site and completing the Ad Grants eligibility form on behalf of The Bus Shelter MK.
While we were waiting for the application to be approved, we started a full Google Analytics set up and review, adding Google Tag Manager to the site and setting up all the relevant conversion tracking.
We also spoke to The Bus Shelter MK about the main objectives for the account and the priority pages on the site.
Once the Google Ad Grant application was approved we could get started building the Ad Account.
Google Ad Grants enables charities to spend up to $330 per day in ad spend. As The Bus Shelter MK has a relatively small site and were only looking to target locally, we were able to create several campaigns and ad groups that would promote the majority of pages on the site.
Once the campaigns were enabled we saw success quickly, gaining a total of 887 clicks and 89 conversions in the first three months after first applying for the Ad Grant.
Since the initial set up we have worked closely with The Bus Shelter MK to ensure the Ad Grant continues to promote the key areas and content that is added to the site is promoted accordingly.
